Last May 31 was a very emotional day for Ignacio Huertas, affectionately known as “Nacho“, which culminated his stay at St Francis College in Cork. During this year, Nacho has not only perfected his English, but he has also forged lasting friendships that he will remember forever.
On his last day of school, Nacho was surprised by his classmates with several gifts. Among them, a farewell letter signed by all his friends and full of loving dedications. This gesture demonstrates the great impact that our students’ stay has in the educational community.
The photos from that day show unforgettable moments: Nacho, surrounded by his classmates, holds the gifts (souvenirs from Cork) that his classmates gave him. The affection and gratitude of his friends is also a reflection of the success of the language immersion programs and culture that the “Ireland Experience” offers.
St Francis College also echoed this emotional farewell on its Instagram account, where they published: “A fond farewell to our Spanish student Ignacio Huertas Abad who has spent the year studying in 2A making life long friends. We wish ‘Nacho’ the best of luck for the future! The 2A lads bought Nacho some Cork merchandise to remember his time in Roco!”
This weekend, Nacho returned to Spain along with other colleagues who also participated in the program. Without a doubt, this experience in Ireland has been transformative for all of them, enriching their learning and creating memories that they will always carry in their hearts.
