The best thing is that Mar is actually in Ireland with us, she’s like a second mother who is always taking care of us, making sure we have what we need at all times and that she is always available for us. I know that it was assurance to my parents, but for me, it was really the support that I needed to be able to adopt to my new Irish life from the rain to the cultural differences between Irish and Spanish teenagers. I now Irish friends and an Irish family forever!! I am now in the first year of Leaving Cert and my English helps me get really good grades thanks to the natural form of learning that I picked up during my full academic school year that I spent in Ireland.
The recognition of studies between Ireland and Spain is regulated by an order of July 7, 1997. The order ECD / 3305/2002, on December 16, is also important and is based on official approval and validation of non-university degrees.
Students who have studied a Primary or Secondary course in Ireland, up to 4 de la ESO, don’t need any sort of formalities to validate their studies. The incorporation of these students to the corresponding course will be carried out by the Spanish center in which the student will continue their studies, according to the regulations of the school and, where appropriate, of the Autonomous Community.
Official approval in 4 de la ESO will be necessary to obtain the title of Graduate in Secondary Education. Likewise, the official approval of the last two years of Senior Cycle will be necessary, which is the equivalent of 1st and 2nd of Bachillerato.
It is very important for you to know that the trimesters in Ireland can not be given an approval by the ministry of education in any case. In these cases, the parents should discuss with the schools how they will evaluate the trimester at school and if they will have to take any exam on return. It is vital to have everything cleared by the school before coming to Ireland.
