“El Atabal” students explore Cork’s rich culture. We are thrilled to share the exciting journey of a group of students from Colegio El Atabal in Málaga, who recently embarked on a language immersion course with Ireland Experience in Cork.
Under the guidance of a dedicated teacher and assistant, the students undertook an immersive nine-day programme, from June 22 to July 1, that left an indelible mark on their language skills and cultural understanding. During their time in Cork, they embraced a wide range of projects that showcased various aspects of Irish life.
At Douglas Community Center, the students embarked on projects exploring Irish cuisine, traditional music and dance, geography, history, and myths and legends. Through hands-on activities and engaging discussions, they not only enhanced their language proficiency but also gained valuable insights into Ireland’s rich heritage.
Beyond the classroom, the students had the opportunity to explore some of Cork’s iconic landmarks and picturesque surroundings. They ventured to Fitzgerald Park, the majestic Blackrock Castle, which offered a glimpse into Ireland’s medieval history, and the Marina Market.
They also visited Blarney Castle, where the students had the chance to kiss the Blarney Stone and gain the gift of eloquence, the coastal towns of Kinsale and Cobh, and the awe-inspiring landscapes of Kerry.
