The students of “El Atabal” are learning from the rich culture of Cork. We are delighted to share the exciting journey of a group of students from El Atabal School in Málaga, who are currently undertaking a linguistic immersion course with Ireland Experience in Cork.
Assisted at all times by a teacher and a monitor, the students are completing a nine-day immersive program, from June 21 to July 1, which is leaving an indelible mark on their linguistic and cultural knowledge. During their stay in Cork, they are engaging in a series of projects on various aspects of Irish life.
At the Douglas Community Centre, the students are researching Irish cuisine, traditional music and dance, geography, history, and myths and legends. Through practical activities and engaging discussions, they are not only improving their language skills but also learning a great deal about Ireland’s rich heritage.
Beyond the classroom, the students have the opportunity to explore some of Cork’s iconic sites and picturesque surroundings. They visit Fitzgerald Park, the majestic Blackrock Castle with its medieval past, and the Marina Market.
They also visit Blarney Castle, where they have the chance to kiss the Blarney Stone and gain the gift of eloquence, as well as the coastal towns of Kinsale and Cobh, and the stunning landscapes of Kerry.
