In Ireland Experience, teachers and host families are totally convinced that immersion is not only for language but also social and cultural. In fact this is one of our strengths. Our programs allow students to share daily life with their host family and learn about their culture, lifestyle, customs, etc. During the programme, our students share unique life experiences that they surely have not lived in their country of origin.
Irish cities like Cork offer plenty of activities, fun and entertainment. Thus, we can enjoy music, sport or open-air activities. Here you have an example of two of these activities.
The player in blue with number 35 is one of our Spanish exchange students. Last October 21, he participated in a Juveniles-Under-15 basketball game between the Blue Demons and Mallow Y.C. María del Mar was one of the most enthusiatic supporters… and they won! This is a perfect example of the philosophy of Ireland Experience: not only linguistic immersion programmes but experiences for a lifetime, being a real part of the community.
The visit to the English Market in Cork is another activity in which we have participated these days. This market has been trading since 1788. It’s one of the oldest markets in Europe. Apart from all the products available inside it, the market is a tourist attraction because of its architectural value. In the traditional serve-over-counter stalls, you can buy all kinds of local products and our kids learnt quite a lot about the local food traditions.
At Ireland Experience we offer our students a total immersion in the culture, history and customs of Ireland, and especially of Cork, a wonderful city. Contact us and join this great family.
